Polls are open 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Veterans Park Memorial Building
Voting on Election Day In-Person
When you arrive at your assigned poll site, you will check in, receive your blank paper ballot, mark your choices, and then cast your vote on the voting machine. Instructions will be available at the poll site, with sample ballots and a notice to voters. If you need assistance, you may ask election inspectors to explain how to vote.
The Accessible Voting feature of the voting machine is available to voters with a disability on Election Day. Please ask an election inspector for assistance.
Anyone living within the Town of East Bloomfield will vote at Veteran’s Park Memorial Building (formerly known as the American Legion) on the northern side of 5&20.

A Few Items to Keep in Mind:
You must vote at your assigned poll site on Election Day. Since we only have one, that should make things easier for everyone.
If you are not sure if you voted early in person or by mail, you can use an affidavit ballot to cast your vote. Your affidavit ballot is kept separate until the election is completed, and election officials verify if your absentee/early by mail ballot was received. The affidavit ballot will not be counted if the absentee/early by mail ballot was received. The affidavit ballot will be counted if the absentee ballot has not been received.
Voting Early in Person
Early voting allows registered voters in Ontario County to cast their ballots in person at designated sites for nine days leading up to Election Day.
This process is identical to voting on Election Day, where voters check in, receive a ballot, and use a voting machine. Instructions, sample ballots, and assistance from election inspectors are available, including an accessible voting feature for voters with disabilities.
The early voting period commences ten days before the election, specifically two Saturdays prior to Election Day. Operating hours vary by day, with sites typically open from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays; Noon to 8 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; and 10 AM to 6 PM on Thursdays and Fridays. These flexible hours provide various opportunities for voters to participate.
There are three designated early voting locations in Ontario County: the Board of Elections at 74 Ontario Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424; the Geneva Housing Authority at 41 Lewis Street, Geneva, NY 14456; and the Victor Town Hall at 85 East Main Street, Victor, NY 14564. Voters can choose to visit any of these sites to cast their ballot.
Voting Early by Mail
Early By Mail voting allows all registered voters in Ontario County to cast their ballot without needing to appear at an Early Voting or Election Day poll site, functioning similarly to an absentee ballot.
To participate, voters must apply for an Early By Mail ballot, which can be done by submitting an application form or applying online through the NY State Early By Mail Ballot Application Portal. A separate Accessible Ballot Request Portal is available for visually impaired voters requiring ballots with accessible features.
Applications for an Early By Mail ballot must be received by the Board of Elections no later than ten days before the election, though in-person applications are accepted up to the day before the election. Voters can monitor the status of their ballot via the NYS Board of Elections Portal. Once the ballot is received, voters are instructed to mark their choices, place the ballot in a security envelope, sign and date it, and then enclose it in the pre-addressed, postage-paid return envelope.
Completed Early By Mail ballots can be returned by mail, ensuring they are postmarked by 9 PM on Election Day, or delivered in person to the Board of Elections offices or any Early Voting or Election Day poll site. If a voter makes an error on their ballot, they should not attempt to correct it, as this may void the ballot; instead, they should contact the Board of Elections at 585-396-4005 to request a new ballot.
Voting Absentee in Person or by Mail
Absentee voting allows registered voters in Ontario County to cast their ballot if they are unable to appear at a poll site due to specific qualifying reasons.
These reasons include being absent from the Town of East Bloomfield, Ontario County, on Election Day, having a temporary or permanent illness or disability, being a primary caregiver for an ill or disabled individual, being a resident or patient of a Veterans Health Administration Hospital, or being in jail or prison for reasons other than a felony conviction.
To apply for an absentee ballot, voters can fill out and send in an Absentee Application form, apply online at the New York State Absentee Ballot Application Portal, or, if visually impaired and requiring accessible features, apply via the online Accessible Ballot Request Portal. The application must be received by the Board of Elections no later than ten days before the election, though in-person applications are accepted up to the day before the election.
Once the ballot is received, voters should mark their choices, fold it, and place it in the Security Envelope. The Security Envelope must be signed and dated on the outside and then sealed. This envelope is then placed into the pre-paid Return Envelope, which has the county Board of Elections’ address and an “Official Election Mail” logo, requiring no additional postage.
The sealed Return Envelope can be mailed or delivered in person to the Board’s offices or any Early Voting or Election Day poll site.
Voters can track their absentee ballot status through the Board of Elections’ Poll Site Search, Voter Registration, and Mail Ballot Tracker. If a mistake is made on the ballot, voters should call the Board of Elections at 585-396-4005 to request a new ballot, as making corrections may void the original. For the ballot to be counted, it must be postmarked by 9 PM on Election Day or delivered in person by that time.
Accessible Voting by Mail or In-Person
Registered voters with a print disability are qualified to use accessible voting. A print disability encompasses any condition that hinders a person’s ability to read, write, or utilize printed materials effectively. This includes, but is not limited to, blindness, low vision, dyslexia, dysgraphia, certain learning disabilities, and physical disabilities that impair writing capabilities.
Voters opting for an accessible ballot are responsible for printing it themselves. For those without a home printer, public printing resources such as libraries, print shops, shipping stores, and office supply stores can be utilized. Details regarding printing services should be obtained directly from these local resources.
Alternatively, voters with disabilities who prefer to vote in person can use the Accessible Voting feature on the voting machine during early voting or on Election Day.
To apply for an accessible ballot, individuals should use the online Accessible Ballot Application Portal.
Who Won the Election?
The Election Day results will be posted after the polls close at 9 PM.
Unofficial contest results are posted on the Ontario County website as returns are received from poll sites.
Official contest results become available a few weeks after all ballots are canvassed and post-election audits are finished.
